"I don't have to find time outside of class to have a conversation with a student to see how they're going and to see how much work they're putting in."

Teachers have a lot on their plate so we're always looking for ways that we can help to reduce workfload. Saving a Custom Task you've created as a Task Template adds it to the Shared Library (alongside some templates the Mathspace team have created) so that you or your colleagues can reuse them. Particularly useful when there are mulitple classes in a grade level.
Personalised learning can be immensely powerful but it is only one aspect of a good learning environment. Our Engage Activities provide opportunities for student inquiry and mathematical talk as students of all levels work together to construct understanding through shared problem solving and reasoning.
Adaptive tasks address a single topic and are quick and easy to assign. Powerful algorithms automatically differentiate the question set for each student as they work through the task, adjusting question difficulty to the individual level of understanding in real time.
Custom tasks provide greater control to teachers as they allow curation of individual questions from one or more topics. They are often used to provide short in-class starters or, with the workbook support like hints and worked examples disabled, as end-of-topic assessments.
If they're to be truly beneficial, teacher reports must be both data rich and actionable. In Mathspace, teachers can drill down exactly as far as needed to see the full picture of student understanding, from high-level aggregated data on "Questions to address" to individual scorecards with a record of each and every step of a student's working - the final answer matters, but not as much as the method.
In addition to the range of reporting accessible to teachers - which can be scaled up to include all classes and all students - administrators can access a special dashboard providing high level data insights for the school (or district) over time.
Nothing! Teacher accounts are free regardless of which package you have access to. We encourage all relevant teachers, support staff and administrators to sign up for an account, and with the Schools and Schools Plus access, to make use of the Shared Classes access which enables multiple teachers to assign work and review reports for a class.
Yes and no... Whilst our Classes, Schools and Schools Plus packages are only available for schools and other education institutions, with a minimum subscription of 30 licences, individual students and teachers can of course sign up for a Personal account, for free.
We don't offer a parent/guardian login to Mathspace, however, we know how important it is for parents and guardians to be involved in their child's learning so we do provide weekly email summaries. Parent/guardian email addresses can be added from the Account Settings page by students, or from the Student Settings page by teachers.
