Short division algorithm, with remainder - divide a 3 digit number by a 1 digit number using

Lesson

Division with remainder

When we work out division problems, we don't always share things out equally. In that case, our division problem has some remainder.

We can still use short division to solve our short division problems, even if we end up with remainder. Take a look at how we deal with remainder, as well as the $0$0 placeholder, in this video.

Remember!

We don't always know if we will end up with any remainder, but luckily we use the same process. Working from left to right, we continue to divide each digit, and if we are not able to share our units equally, we may end up with remainder.

Outcomes
