Multiple Timetables

Lesson

Travelling across a city often means you need to consider multiple timetables

Timetables come in many different layouts. But despite how different they may look, they all should give you enough information to know how long it will take to travel between two points, and what time you should expect the train, tram, ferry or bus will turn up.

Of course the important thing to remember when calculating times is that there are $60$60 minutes in an hour. So if you catch a train at $14$14:$43$43 and it gets to your destination at $15$15:$12$12 the journey takes $29$29 minutes. You can calculate this by adding $17$17 minutes to get to $15$15:$00$00, and then it is $12$12 minutes until $15$15:$12$12. In total $17+12$17+12 minutes = $29$29 minutes.

Often you will need to consider more than one timetable. This could be because you want to go to the cinema to watch a film, and need to think about what times the film starts and then consider transport. Or you may be using more than one type of transport to get somewhere.

Remember!

You must think about how long it will take you to walk between different modes of transport too.
