Word problems with div and comparison

Lesson

We've looked at division with numbers. Division is the operation we use to split an amount up into equal groups. In How many times bigger?, we also looked at how multiplication can be used to find out how many time bigger one group is compared to another. If you remember, division is the opposite of multiplication, so now we are going to look at how we can use division to work out how many times smaller one group is compared to another.

Let's watch a video on how to do this.

Remember!

To work out how many times smaller one group is compared to another, divide the larger group by the smaller group.
