Lesson

Square Numbers

We discussed what square numbers are in What's So Special? Remember these are numbers that are multiplied by themselves.

We can square any number.

Examples

$12^2=12\times12$122=12×12 $=$= $144$144

$100^2=100\times100$1002=100×100 $=$= $10000$10000

Cube numbers

Cube numbers are numbers that are multiplied by themselves two more times. (that number three times in total)

Examples

$2^3=2\times2\times2$23=2×2×2 $=$= $8$8

$5^3=5\times5\times5$53=5×5×5 $=$= $125$125
