Grade 6

Mixed set on extending multiplication

Lesson
We've already looked at how we can use our knowledge of the multiplication tables to multiply large numbers and to multiply small decimal numbers.

Now we are going to extend that idea and look at some questions that have a combination of large and small numbers. It's really important to think about place value with these questions, and you may find sketching out a place value table will help.

Worked Examples

Question 1

If $2\times8=16$2×8=16, what is $20\times8$20×8?

Question 2

Question 3
