Thinking of area
When we think of how long something is, we use length, and you may have tried to estimate the length of objects.
When we look at area, we look at how much space our shape takes up. You may have an idea of the best unit of measurement to choose, but you'll see in this video how we can also estimate the area.

A good strategy when estimating area is to think about the area of things we know. This helps us determine if things make sense, or not.
