Proportions in units of measurement (imperial)

Lesson

Earlier we looked at how to compare the size of numbers. Now, we are going to look at how we can create equal units of time and equal units of weight in the imperial system. This process is called conversion, which means to change from one unit to another without changing its size.

Converting Between Measures of Time

Remember!

There are 60 seconds in 1 minute, so 60 seconds = 1 minute.

There are 60 minutes in 1 hour, so 60 minutes = 1 hour.

Lets watch on converting from a smaller unit of time to a larger unit of time:

Remember!

There are 16 ounces in 1 pound, so 16 ounces = 1 pound.
