Decimals patterns with hundredths (add/sub)

Lesson

We've now seen how to find and complete patterns with decimals in the tenths place. Working with patterns with decimals in the hundredths place is exactly the same process, but just one place value smaller. Watch the video below to see how to do them!

So to complete a pattern with decimals in the hundredths place, we need to:

Find the pattern - which will either be given, or which will need to be found by looking at the list of numbers.
Continue the pattern - using the pattern that you found.

Worked Examples
EXAMPLE 1

Complete the following pattern.

  1. $0.05$0.05 $0.06$0.06 $0.07$0.07 $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$

EXAMPLE 2

Consider the following pattern.

  1. What is the pattern?

    $0.63$0.63 $0.56$0.56 $0.49$0.49 $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$

The numbers are decreasing by $0.7$0.7.

    A

The numbers are decreasing by $7$7.

    B

The numbers are decreasing by $0.07$0.07.

    C

The numbers are decreasing by $70$70.

    D
  2. $0.63$0.63 $0.56$0.56 $0.49$0.49 $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$

EXAMPLE 3

Complete the pattern by multiplying by $2$2 each time.

  1. $0.02$0.02 $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$ $\editable{}$
