This activity explores measurements of length. Ask your teacher or parent for some objects to investigate.

Think about each of the questions for the objects that your teacher or parent provides.

• What is it used for?
• What do you think is the length of the object?
• What unit of measurement should you use?
• What tool should you use to measure its length?
• What other tool or tools can you use to measure its length? Do you think the measurement will be the same as your first measurement?

Analyze data

    Your teacher will collect and show you the measurements that you and your other classmates have submitted. 

• Are your measurements the same? Why or why not?
• Which ones do you think are wrong measurements? Why do you say so?
• What may be the reason why there are wrong measurements?
• What are the important things to remember to make sure that the measurement is correct?
