Use a place value table.

Apply the idea

To put it in a place value table, put the 6 in the tenths column, 5 in the hundredths column and use zeros for place holders:

So we have 6 in the tenths place and 5 in the hundredths place. Altogether, we have sixty five hundredths. So the correct answer is option B.

Idea summary

When converting a fraction to a decimal, the last digit of our decimal goes in the place value column with the same name as the denominator of our fraction.

For example, if we are converting the fraction \dfrac{1}{10} to a decimal, the 1 will go in the tenths column of our place value table since the denominator is 10.
